London art-rock quartet Bollards have made quite the arrival statement with their debut single “Plate Up” which appears on their recently released debut EP Harbour Dance.
“Plate Up” takes upon the weight of all the greats of the new wave genre with a blend of post-punk and an artful groove. The New Order vibes on the introductory instrumental and production style are apparent, but soon the song takes a form of its own with some funky Nile Rogers sharp guitar riffs and a Talking Heads vibe with mathy grooves that would make Foals smile.
