Danish indie rockers Shiny Darkley recently returned with their new EP HEAVYY, which features brooding and dark rockers such as single “Heavenly.” The song is described as a “bittersweet love story describing a hopeful state of denial, a constant belief that a leaf has been turned, despite a fearful knowing that the new/re-found bliss is a temporary illusion.”
The track captures a moodiness that features elements of post punk, alt rock, and even slight country moments, that recall some of the work of fellow Danish indie mainstays, Iceage. There is a complexity that delivers a strong and vivid emotional punch that hits quite hard.
