June Magnolia is an artist out of Portland, Oregon who gained some notoriety this year after in NPR’s Tiny Desk Competition this year, where their song “New Love” was featured as a finalist on an episode of Top Shelf.
The track begins with a majestic and otherworldly experimental indie art-folk sound that feels like a creation of its own right – zigging when you expect it to zag. The song finds an even more interesting and colorful form during the live performance that they submitted to NPR.
