Toronto dream pop duo Twin Rains returned with their sophomore album Unreal City, which features gorgous dance pop anthems such as single “All of the Angels.”
The track is described by the duo as being about “how we as humans never get to know how events unfold. Something that seems good at first can be a curse, and something that seems terrible might actually be a blessing.”
While the song boasts a life-affirming dance groove and spirit, there is a strong emotional presence bubbling under the surface with a feeling of melancholy but also hope, that there is something to look forward to despite these once again trying times. The vocal work emulates the work of indie legends such as Stereolab, while also delivering something of its own.
