New England’s indie-folk duo The Ballroom Thieves have recently returned with “Borderline” a song that follows the previously shared “I’m Around” and “Woman”.
The track is a sparse and delicately arranged tender anthem with pretty arrangements and a passionate display of rising action that grows as the song progresses even showcases some elements of pop songwriting, just done within the realm of their sound in a way that feels natural.
About the song, the duo says:
“the crux of the song is the thought that anxiety can be such a pervasive part of your life that it’s difficult to imagine the person you would be without it. Sometimes it feels like we’re sitting on a little rain cloud inside our own heads, watching our bodies move through each day in front of us, and that’s an idea that really needs a happy, summery guitar riff to keep it from depressing everyone who hears it.”
