Teen Daze, the project of British Columbia-based producer Jamison Isaak, recently released his new album Interior via Cascine, his first record for the label. The producer has come a long way over the years, building his sound up while also staying very true to the heart and soul of the roots of the project.

Take the single and title track “Interior” built upon swirling synth work and colorful production that dictates a cinematic feel and atmosphere that feels grand and larger than life, yet intimate and personal somehow at the same time even with its house and dance nature.

Then there is the album’s epic closing track, “Translation.” Pushing nearly nine minutes, the track blossoms as in treks ahead is a glow of ambiance before it turns to a pulsating beat and dance groove that continues to evolve and push the tempo and creative boundaries as it goes on.

About”Translation” he says:

“The final track on the record, and rather than end with a turn towards more quiet, introspective tones (which is traditionally how I tend to end records), I wanted to end with a bit of a celebration. This song has gone through a number of different variations, but it wasn’t until I dropped in the micro-samples and extended sax solo at the end that it really hit the mark,” Jamison describes.”This one does demand something from the listener though,” he adds. “The kick drum doesn’t even come in until the 3:30 mark. I do think people will be rewarded if they’re able to really live in the world of the song for the first half, until the big party comes in. The quiet parts of a song make the loud parts hit even harder, right?”
