Taipei is the project of Finland-based musician Henrik Sundström who makes bedroom pop in a wooden house that delivers a warmth meant to “capture the melancholy vibes of Finland.”

You get a full sense of this melancholy on “RAD I/O” the sort of airy and atmospheric slice of electronic indie-pop that would have dominated the music blogosphere in the late 2000s. The track finds a gorgeous ambient nature that integrates warm elements of emotion and indeed, melancholy, to create a crisp sound that stirs your emotional core.

Enjoy a stream to the track below along with a quote from the artist:

The song came to be when I wanted to step outside my comfort zone.

So I added autotune to my vocal chain…

Suddenly a new character was born ”RAD I/O”.

Now I could lean back and let this emotional robot take over.

This is RAD I/O’s song and it’s about being a creative workhorse.
