Experimental London-based trio Kyoto Kyoto will release their debut EP, Mirror Flexing Jaw, on January 28th, 2022, via Blitzcat Records. Based on the lead single “Fenderr” it’s a release to keep an eye out for.
The track moves at a pace and sonic territory completely of it own, with some groovy guitar riffs and a experimental dreary nature that blends into a sound that is somehow both mathy and dreamy at the same time. While the song ends almost too abruptly, you have to admire that the band knows how to leave you wanting more and give you exactly all you need at the same time.
In the mind of singer Lev Ceylan the song is a:
monologue about time passing by through the eyes of an ageing dog – incrementally getting older, slower, as physical injuries take their toll and the emotional healing process gets longer.
“A depiction of how time is the only constant in chaos.”
