Sea Lemon is the new solo project of 26-year-old Seattle-based songwriter Natalie Lew. She has made her debut with her effortlessly transfixing single “Sunday” a song described as being “inspired by Natalie’s guilty and anxious feelings during the pandemic, all circling around not being physically around those closest to her, and how that stress and anxiety built day by day into a cloud of untamable worry.”
The track, produced by No Vacation, is a pitch perfect slice of uptempo dream-pop, with a sunny glistening vibrant melody that perfectly gels with her vocal work. There is a keen emotional sense that is well equpiied for the bouncy arrangements that bring it all to life.
Like a blend of Alvvays, Day Wave and Hatchie, this is a pure delight and an incredible debut.
