Night Palace is the project of musician Avery Draut, who will release her debut album Diving Rings on February 11th, 2022, via Park The Van.
“Nightshade” is the ethereal lead single that features a late night dream-like atmosphere, full of jangly guitar riffs, lovely soulful vocals, and an overall enchanted feeling in the air that carries you into a different world completely.
The single was inspired by a folktale Draut’s grandma shared with her when she was a child. As she explains:
My grandma first told me the magic that if you plant pennies under hydrangeas that the flowers will change colors. She was full of this type of factlet, and I find myself echoing her magic all the time.
