With her new EP Time To Plant Tears set for release on December 2nd, New York’s Nisa has returned with another new single, “The Savior.”
Every track shared from the EP has shined a new light on her impressive songwriting talents, and this time around she offers a track adorned perfectly with a backing trumpet with adds an entirely new element to her songwriting. For lazy purposes, there are elements of The National and Beirut there, with a PJ Harvey mysterious quality to the rest of the track and her always powerful vocals.
Speaking about the track Nisa added:
“The Savior,” is a trumpet call from within beckoning me to stop prioritizing others’ needs over my own, especially when it comes to making choices that affect me first. It’s a reminder of the grounding nature of focus when the illusion of control starts to fade.
The release of “The Savior” comes with a brand new music video that was directed, styled, and shot by Angela Ricciardi and Silken Weinberg and feels like a perfect capture of the cinematic power of the song. Enjoy the video for the track which we have shared below.
