Slow Drift is the electronica/synthpop project of Oxford-based multi-instrumentalist and producer James Askwith and Canadian singer-songwriter Jenn Steeves.

The duo’s partnership was birthed during the winter of 2020 after lockdown and isolation accidentally resulted in them writing songs together across two countries. James, in Oxford, would send electronic instrumental tracks to Jenn, in British Columbia, who would write lyrics and vocal melodies.

They have shared the first result of this new partnership with their stunning debut single “Oblivion.” What grabs you instantly is the haunting and cinematic as all hell production and atmosphere that creates a hypnotizing feeling. It allows plenty of sonic terrain for the vocals of Steeves to run free and deliver a sincere and gripping emotional punch.
