Work Wear is an indie trio from Charlottesville, Virginia, whose songs are “inspired by 90’s fashion and form: British psych and shoegaze, American indie, and a reverence for bucking norms in favor of rhythm and poetry.” All of their new material was recorded on-stage at the historic Martin Luther King Jr. Performing Arts Center at Charlottesville High School.
The band have returned with their new single “Millet” a track that bathes in that classic 90s slacker rock and folk sound, with a bit of a Kurt Vile, Woods, and Real Estate sound with an earnest vocal performance that allows the emotional to completely shine through.
About the song the band adds:
The lyrics explore personal identity through work, art, and relationships—the band itself an exercise in self-actualization and public presentation in the support of our individual capacity for change. Work is love made visible.
