Georgia Harmer is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter and the newest signee to Arts & Crafts. She introduces herself to the world with her debut single “Headrush.”
Harmer hails from a family of artists and poets, including aunt and labelmate Sarah Harmer. She cut her teeth as a backing vocalist for Alessia Cara began focusing on her own music and based on “Headrush” it was well worth the wait.
The track – which was “recorded live off the floor with friends crammed into the corner of a converted West Toronto garage,” delivers an artful folk punch with a rawness that blends perfectly with some airy vocals that have some ever-so-catchy vocals that don’t quite breach pop territory but certainly have a catchy ear-worm naturalism to it. As far as debut offerings go, this is as fully realized and accomplished as they come.
