It’s been six years since Oberhofer last released an album, but that will change soon with the release of his new album Smothered, which is coming out on November 12th via Telefono Records.
The album was fashioned from “the sparks of his own creative fire, through personal tragedy, professional uncertainty, and existential crises.” and features an eclectic collection of guests such as Nick Valensi of The Strokes, Jónsi, Shamir, Teddy Geiger and King Princess.
With the album news came the release of lead single “Let It Go,” a bright-minded colorful indie synth-pop mixture that has a very sunny deposition to it that feels readymade for listening on a chill summer night.
