Phantomelo, the Dallas, Texas-based indie outfit who caught our attention earlier in the year with their single “The Tempest” has returned with their latest offering, “Space Prom.”
The track definitely taps into a classic do-wop classic love-longing retro-pop sound that you may have heard at a prom back when that was still a romantic thing to attend. There is a bit of a cosmos space element to it that gives it a fun new twist, with the seductive vocals and all in full check.
About the song, the band adds:
Written from the perspective of a alien infiltrating the human species, who, after getting in too far deep, makes a terrible mistake which leads to a tragic chain of events that lands him on death row. His last night alive, he gazes starward and cries out to his brethren to save him. It’s his last dance.
