Seattle’s Fotoform is the partnership of husband and wife duo Kim House and Geoffrey Cox, who are now joined by former Death Cab for Cutie / Long Winters drummer Michael Schor.
In a few weeks, they will release their new album Horizons, which saw its recording sessions bookending the lockdown. You get a sense of the dreamy cinematic sound of the record such as on single “Too Late.” The track brandishes a dreamy and seductive sound that touches upon gloss synths, lush vocals and a post-rock shoegaze sound that captures a touching and vivid sonic territory.
On the song the House says:
We’ve all experienced moments when boundaries have been crossed, whether by ourselves or someone else, and there’s no going back. Too Late is about that moment of alienation- the point of no return. It’s almost a two-sided monologue, it’s a warning/reminder but also a kind of satisfying break-up song about being strong enough to cut someone off who has wronged you emotionally, romantically, or even professionally: That’s it, you’re cut off. But: “you did it to yourself.”
