Oslo Twins are a dream pop group, formed in Bristol in 2019. They capture a cinematic sound that is oozing with 80s influence on their captivating and impressive debut single “The Edge.”
The track glistens with synths that sound like they’re pulled from 80s horror (ala John Carpenter) with a bit of a Kate Bush ethereal quality to the atmosphere and vocals. It’s a haunted listen but one that engulfs you with an equally dreamy quality that you can’t quite shake.
About the track the band said:
The track began as an expression of frustration, which led to its dark undertones. When the lyrics and vocals were added, it was adapted into something more positively defiant and sensual. The lyrics come from a place of existential curiosity, and a longing for excitement over ennui at any cost.
