Youth XL is an indie rock outfit from New Haven, Connecticut led by singer-songwriter Alex McGuire. Last year many people, including ourselves, slept on their debut EP Text Your Friends.
You’ll feel the same with just one listen to the opening track “Yoga.” The song breezes by with any easy charm that feels vibrant and youthful, the sort of indie-pop we used to get back when this blog was first created. Like a mix of Born Ruffians, Vampire Weekend, and Princeton, this track is practically made to be blasted all summer long.
