Chasu is a new Hong Kong-born, Korean-raised producer(for Indonesian rapper Warren Hue), songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who recently released a double single titled “bury me instead” featuring songs “Sweet decay” and “séance” on 777 Music.

During the past year, the 18-year-old Chasu has been studying at UC Berkley remotely while working from a home studio in Seoul. He’s making the move to California later this year to debut his music with the world.

On “sweet decay” the artist confides in the listener in an intimate way that feels like a gentler, slightly more intimate blend of Mac DeMarco and Boy Pablo. The track has a bedroom pop feel to it but also charms with its flirtation of a larger bigger scale atmosphere under the surface.

You get a sense that this is just the start of an artist that is going to be in store for a big 2021 and beyond.

Enjoy the music video for “sweet decay” below, which was filmed in the farmlands outside of Seoul.
