vern matz will return soon with their new album later in the month via Nice Guys Records, recently returning with lead single “Polar Star Preschool”, a song that is described as a “jaunty, catchy, semi-sarcastic song about a rich preschool and their telekinetic prodigies.” and is inspired by the Super Nintendo.
The indie-folk duo once again showcase their unfair natural songwriting abilities. The track harness a bit of that Alex G sound with some 90s indie spirit and production style that is warm and familiar yet also forward-thinking, with production by TOLEDO, another band who also shares this skillset.
