The Here Todays are a Finnish shoegaze/dreampop four-piece who come out swinging on their wonderful new track “Severed,” released via Daytime Music.
The track features shimmering swirling shoegazy guitars full of fuzz and dreamy goodness that channels the titans on the genre like My Bloody Valentine. It’s an epic offering that feels timeless and doesn’t hide it’s influences at all, but still manages to add its own distinct stamp without being just a blatant copy of what came before.
Describing the track, the band offered up the following quote:
Severed gallops through its life span with no brakes. A bitter breakup milkshake of guitar swirls, jet fuel, regrettable trajectories and a never-ending dance beat.
