LA-based indie duo Cape Weather will return with their new EP Hunny this summer and have given us a preview of what’s to come with the lush single “Alice,” a song that they say was inspired by the need for human connection early in the pandemic.

The track captures an old school indie rock and pop sound that has a dreamy quality to it that feels like a mix of Tennis and Angel Olsen. There is a shimmering quality to the track that feels equal parts melancholic and hopeful.

I was struggling and I saw so many others struggling. I felt an urgent need to write something for both them and myself, something that just shouted, “you’re gonna get through this.
