Barista is an Istanbul-based rock band led by Bahadır Han Eryılmaz, who has recently released his new album Open Sesame Vol 1: Her Dress, the first in a five part series of albums. “Circular Lives” is the focus first single, a track that channels many 90s rock greats.
It’s hard not to be reminded of grunge lengends like Chris Cornell on the track, from the wide spanning guitar work and production, as well as those vocals which come mighty close to sounding like Cornell and fellow grunge greats like Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam.
But “Circular Lives’ combines grunge with a more expansive funky proggy rock sound that tackles a different set of sonic territory that doesn’t play it safe at all.
