Corinne Sharlet is a folk singer-songwriter who is preparing for the release of her debut album, A Lovely Future, which will be released later in the summer.
The album was recorded directly to an analogue tape machine during qurantine, with the goal of “create an intergalactic escape sound with spacey electric guitar, pulsing hand-drum percussion.” She accomplishes this in a most triumphant manner on her new single, “Pink Summer Moon.”
It shines bright with an enchanting feeling in the air with a vivid sense of place and storytelling that only becomes that much richer with the sonic arrangements that feel otherworldly. If the rest of the album sounds this magical, we have a sleeper hit on our hands.
