17-year-old wunderkind Nolan Trotter just recently caught our attention with his track “Heartbreak Mindscape” and today we are back with “I Spy (You),” the opener of his recently released album, Mindstream. It’s a song that he described as being about “thoughts on growing up and experiences of love.”
The track harnesses an oddball psych energy with trippy vocals with a groovy bassline dancing with the hazy colors and funky vibes. It harkens to the days where chillwave like Washed Out and Neon Indian reigned supreme but also adds plenty of remarkable flourishes of his own.
