Austin-based singer-songwriter Lex Holmes has caught our attention with her winning single, “Ninjas Don’t Kill Butterflies.”
The track paints a vivid picture with an observational and emotive sense of storytelling that has an uplifting spirit to it that carries itself with the weight of artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, just with more of a slight pop take that feels like it could have been released during the early 2000s.
About the track Holmes added:
This is a track I wrote about a relationship not working, but trying to figure it out regardless. I wrote this song while traveling with my boyfriend at the time. The lyrics are honest, and personal.
