Transistor is an indie rock band formed in Birmingham, Alabama in 2019 consisting of vocalist Patrick Davis, guitarist Drew Sikes, drummer JT Ward, and bassist Mason Richardson. The band is gearing up for the release of their debut album Maybe in the Summer, later in this summer.
“Pounding the Pavement” is the uplifting and totally anthemic lead single that bursts through the gate with a great energy and some huge guitar licks that channels classic rockers of the past as well as 90s rock. The chorus will sweep you up in a surprising and unexpected way that feels truly larger than life.
It comes from a personal place for Davis, who moved back to Birmingham from NYC as he explains below:
I moved back in defeat due to my parents’ medical conditions deteriorating rapidly and feeling an obligation to them. After returning, I quickly began to feel stuck. Just like when I had left. Thankfully I kept writing, desperately trying to manifest this feeling into song, and one day Pounding the Pavement came along.
