Gabriel Valentine is a bedroom indie rock artist from Boulder, Colorado who has won us over charmingly with his two new singles “Rolling Stone” and “Tangled.”
“Rolling Stone” has a lush jangly intimate sound that feels like a blend of Mac DeMarco, Cass McCombs, and Kurt Vile. The guitar texture is perfectly produced to match his hazy vocals, one that is emotive but also quite inviting.
Then there’s “Tangled” a track that has a more 90s aesthetic and feel to it. The guitar hooks are undeniably crisp and there’s a jammy aspect to it that blends well with the more atmospheric touches, not to mention a pretty awesome guitar solo.
Considering that both tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered by himself in his bedroom, it’s safe to say that he’s a rising talent, one to keep an eye on as one can only imagine what we can do with even more tools at his disposal.
