Junaco, the Los Angeles-based indie duo of Shahana Jaffer and Joey LaRosa, have returned with their summer-ready single “Dazed,” via Side Hustle Records. This follows “Weight Of The World” which we shared last month, with both tracks set to appear on a new EP due out later in the summer.
The song coasts along briskly with a crisp indie-pop groove that has a bright-minded production style that perfectly aligns with the floaty vocals of Jaffer. It feels like a perfect summer day rolled up tightly in a ball and distilled in its purest form, ready for consumption with a few cold ones by your side.
About the song, LaRosa adds:
“For me, it’s about living in beauty without a worry for a brief period. The beauty in the normalcy of a sunny day. The songs’ form was intended to recreate how a day passes – starting slow and growing into the momentum that the world is moving as the day passes. An ode to the moments in between, because that’s where we’re all really living.”
