Edinburgh-based musician Swiss Portrait has given us a few dream-pop gems over the past few months and has since returned with his very 80s indie rock-sounding new single “Cassette,” which is taken from their debut album which will be released on May 28th via Z Tapes.

You wouldn’t be totally wrong for mistaking the song as a lost New Order song, with some of that emotional yet dance friendly vibrant instrumentation taking you into a feeling of melancholy. It’s the dreamy vocals that bring you forward to the present, giving you a youthful feeling that hits the sweet spot, and then some.

About the song the artist said the following:

The song is about dealing with my anxieties of been left alone. But obviously the authors intended meaning shouldn’t take away from what people find in it.
