Missing Image, the project of Seattle-based indie musician Kirk Bentley, who released his debut album last March, has since returned with his lush single “Lemon Tree,” taken from his upcoming sophomore album Instant Dimension.

The track taps into some of the warm orchestration of folk sounds of greats of the past, while also weaving in a bit of a modern dream-pop sound that feels like a combination of Wild Nothing and Fountains of Wayne. The power-pop sounds are very much intact, with a bit of a new exploration of these genres by Bentley.

About the song Bentley added the following:

“Lemon Tree is all about enjoying the moment and being in love with where you are and who you’re with”, says Kirk Bentley, AKA Missing Image. “Lemon Tree is a song about the time when all of us will be able to enjoy taking it slow and lingering out of doors together.

Enjoy a listen to “Lemon Tree” now below and stay tuned for his new album, due out later in the year.
