It’s hard to believe that it’s been over a decade since Lissie released her debut album Catching A Tiger. The 2010 album is getting an updated new release with an expanded anniversary edition that features five previously unreleased songs from the original album sessions in 2009.
About the new version of the album Lissie said:
“‘Catching A Tiger’ was the album that gave me a career. In high school, I dreamed of being a professional musician, and I definitely encountered more doubters than believers. During my early twenties, I was living in Hollywood trying to figure out how to support myself. I really admire the younger version of me who faced a lot of setbacks and personal hardships, but never doubted for one second I was going to make this happen in some way, shape, or form. I think about the resilience I had to make that album in the first place. It means a lot to me.”
This includes “It’s Not Me” a song that she has released to preview the expanded edition of the album. The track has that warm folk and country mixture with an upbeat tempo and inspirational feel with a big pop-minded chorus.
