Northern Virginia-based rock outfit Reluctant Zero has released a new single entitled “Hurt No More” that is the first taste from their upcoming debut album Missing Time, due out later in the year.
The track has a bit of a late 90s / early 2000s rock sound that has a big chugging anthemic feel to it, with a big passionate chorus. There’s a Gaslight Anthem like feeling to it that goes for a big stadium anthem, including a huge chorus. Yet it’s the emotional undertone of the vocals and lyrics that end up being the revelatory winning element here.
Enjoy the music video for “Hurt No More” below, along with a quote from the band about the track’s genisis.
“Hurt No More is a song about someone trying to fix a problem that isn’t theirs to fix. I think, at some point in life, we’ve all felt compelled to help someone we didn’t know that well because we found something inside them that we connected with. Hurt No More tries to encapsulate that feeling.”
