Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Gracie Gray recently returned with her new single “alienlover” via Trailing Twelve Records.
The track captures a vividly intimate and passionate emotional folk sound that has a haunted presence about it. It has an ethereal quality but also a sneaky catchy hook that will have you returning for more in no time. A mix of art rock and a dreamy folk sound that merges into something unique and special.
The song came together after attending a show a The Satellite in Los Angeles and hearing it in a dream. Or as Gray tells it:
My friend Cam was there, and we watched the sets. That night, I had a dream that I was back at the Satellite, sitting at a table with Cam, and he said “wait listen, the DJ is playing your song” and I listened, and I heard my voice singing this song. Immediately knowing it was a dream, I began to wake up. I caught the song for long enough though, and immediately opened my voice memos and recorded every bit I heard in my dream
