Olivia Wendel is a indie folk/pop singer originally from Lexington, Massachusetts, now based in New York City. She is due to release her new album Windthrow in May and has recently let go of the promising single “Stop & Shop.”

The track, which is produced by Jeff Peters, instantly casts a wonderous spell, with an enchanting folk storytelling sound that feels like a mix of Phoebe Bridgers and Kacey Musgraves. “Stop & Shop” navigates a trip to the titular supermarket as she runs into someone she hasn’t seen in years. As a fellow east coaster, I have experienced this fellow moment before many times and its amazing how she captures this feeling with such a poignant tone that is quite impressive.
