Spring Summer is the moniker for singer-songwriter Jennifer Furches, a North Carolina native who has made a home in Los Angeles.
She has played time as a multi-instrumentalist for artists such as Cass McCombs, Coconut Records, Sea Wolf, and Ben Lee and has now set out on her own with debut single “Bow Your Head.”
The track has a simple and straightforward indie folk-rock feel, but one that gradually rises ever so slightly where you slowly get hooked and notice the emotional sentiment that is undeniable.
About the song, Furches says:
I’ve always felt this conflict between playing simple, emotional songs–just me and my guitar–and that tug to collaborate with a band and make some noise! This particular tune started as a letter to myself, and I’m so happy with how Patrick [Park, producer] was able to capture those two sides of me in this one song.
The video, directed by Roman Coppola and shot by John Schwartzman, features my sister Amanda Furchesand was shot quickly in one take after wrapping a commercial I was involved in through my day job as a script supervisor.
