Electric Treatment Free is the experimental electronic solo project of Ottawa musician/producer Mark Uygur. He has recently released his debut self-titled EP featuring five songs that are described as combining, “diverse musical techniques and genres to create an electroacoustic sound that is idiosyncratic yet readily accessible.”
Take the EP’s opening cut “study 4” which takes the listener on an electronic journey of colorful electronic work mixed in with moments of ambience. There is a blissful and freeing nature to the song that shifts in tone and feeling, going from emotive to feelings of joy. The intimate bedroom nature of the songs only adds to the charm which feels like the sort of electronic offering that we would’ve discovered in the mid 2000s.
