Swedish dream pop indie artist Vacation Forever recently returned with new single “Pop Up In My Head,” taken from his upcoming debut album Real Life Sux, out via Kravenworks – as is the previously shared “Ride Or Cry”.
The track feels like it could havce been stripped from the 80s, with a love-longing Cure like feeling mixed with a jangly dream pop sound that helps lift your spirits in a happy sad sort of way.
Enjoy a listen to the single along with a quote from Vacation Forever about it’s meaning below.
”I’m way too familiar with the feeling of waking up in Stockholm in the middle of the summer, hungover from various substances, having a feeling that you really fucked up and the only thing you can think about is the one that got away 5 years ago. A full blown 360 spin of clichés but so what?! Sue me. The clichés are correct, I live for that shit. This song represents the lonely heart club on steroids. A simple lo-fi tune filled with naive love and despair. Enjoy!”
