Hotspit is a DIY indie rock band out of Richmond, Virginia who has been a band for about three years now and are preparing the release of their eventual debut EP.

The band has given us a taste of what is to come with their single “Obsessive Care.” It showcases a tremendous songwriting prowess that is able to tap into a primal emotional atmosphere that starts out as a dreamy hazy mood-piece before transforming into something more of a garage rock sensibility. Like part Angel Olsen into Mothers, becoming a mixture of both, yet something else entirely.

Or as they describe it:

This song has our classic singer songwriter roots mixed with the direction we are heading more intently in which is a more powerful, indie rock group. The lyrics were inspired by a messy breakup and the confusion of missing a loved one and not knowing how to reach out.

One thing is for sure, Hotspit should be a band kept firmly on your radar as a band to watch.
