Vipid, the project of Burbank, California producer Jared Simmons, returned in early October with his new instrumental ambient album Memories. The album is described as being “inspired by reflection on and transmutation of the past.”
He captures an ambient sort of melancholy emotional feel on his track, that may not have words but provide plenty to chew on and ruminate. Such as “Night Tides” the standout offering that combines swirling synths and colorful atmospheric production with some nice guitar work that reminds of some of the work of artists like Tycho.
