Kowloon is a musician and filmmaker from Los Angeles, California preparing the release of his debut album Come Over, which was written, performed, recorded, and mixed in his home studio in the industrial outskirts of the city.

The lead single and title track “Come Over” showcases a smooth as hell bedroom pop jam with some colorful dance-friendly electronic arrangements and a groovy bassline. It’s al paired well with some tender vocals that perfectly guide all the instrumentals towards the light. It reminds of some of the early work of bands like Hot Chip or The Whitest Boy Alive.

Or as Kowloon describes the track:

This is a dance song for the bedroom. It is a call for the salvation of another’s touch – a desperate and danceable cry for companionship from the depths of the loneliest summer of our lives. Disco drums and an irresistibly bouncing bass line anchor the track, joined by gentle synth, a forlorn and cello-like slide guitar, and a cool and aching vocal. Recorded, performed, produced and mixed by Kowloon in total isolation – save for Dylan Day’s (Jenny Lewis, Beck, Grace Potter) mournful slide guitar which enters at the songs climax, like the longed for touch of another’s hand.
