tanner. is the project of Tanner Bivins, a 25-year-old grad student from the Pacific Northwest who makes “upbeat indie-pop for sad people.” Considering that’s pretty much every one in the world right about now, his new song “Fairhaven Station” is a welcome bit of joy in what has been a pretty bleak time.
The track lives up to its upbeat indie-pop description with a bit of a youthful summery spirit that has plenty of hooks to reel you in. While tanner. may not reinvent this brand of jangly indie pop, it does what it sets out to in a confident manner that won us over.
