Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Heather Gruber has recently returned with her new single “Hiding from the Rain.”
The pop offering is “inspired both by past relationships and her own inner struggle with self-doubt, anxiety and depression.” Gruber plays with pop and folk, creating a sort-of upbeat pop ballad that doesn’t quite go the way that you initially expect.
Gruber adds a bit of personal context about the creation of the song with the following:
I thought this one was excellent. As a person who loves the rain, it inspired me to actually want to walk in the rain even more. I enjoyed the deep percussion beat and the delicate tinkling of the piano. It brought me into the rhythm of the song. Loved it.
