Laser Background is the project of Andy Molholt of Speedy Ortiz who released his new album Evergreen Legend this past Friday.
The album is full of chill psych-driven jams with plenty of colorful moments, such as “Accidental Holiday,” a track that he describes as being about “avoiding the pitfalls in life.” Built with otherworldly vocals and colorful psych production, it soars brightly, perfect for today’s rather summery weather.
Then there are the more angular rock riffs of the albums’ leadoff track “Debunked at Home.” It features some groovy almost mathy guitar work and a playful vibe that certainly kicks off the album in style and sets the tone.
