Steven Wright-Mark – “Underground”

By Will Oliver, April 26th 2020 Listen Stream

New York’s very own Steven Wright-Mark released his new EP Wake Up! on Friday and today we are here to share its infectious track “Underground.”

It’s very clear from the start of the song that Wright-Mark knows how to pen a catchy song but it’s at the chorus where the songwriter throws a knockout punch with an infectious chorus that channels some of the best power-pop artists of our time such as Fountains Of Wayne and the late Adam Schlesinger.

Wright-Mark offered the following description of the track:

Some of the greatest resistance movements and revolutions in history started “Underground,” and this song was written as a bit of a slightly-veiled criticism of our administration. But the lyrics take on a new meaning in light of our current worldwide crisis, as we’re all essentially “underground” and not sure when we’ll be back…
