If you told me that The Streets and Tame Impala would be teaming up together for a new song, I never would have seen it coming. But this odd-pairing is a real thing on their collaborative track “Call My Phone Thinking I’m Doing Nothing Better,” which is the first song off of The Street’s forthcoming mixtape None of Us Are Getting Out of This Life Alive—out July 10 via Island Records.
It’s been nearly a decade since Mike Skinner released a new album as The Streets, despite releasing a few singles in the past few years. This is a solid return from Skinner who uses Kevin Parker’s vocals in between the signature delivery of his verses, creating a fresh-faced take on The Streets sound, made for a modern age.
