It’s been three years since Washed Out’s last album Mister Mellow, but it seems we may be getting a new album sometime this year with the release of brand new single “Too Late.”
It has that sun-soaked dreamy sound to it that we’ve come to expect from Ernest Greene. Even so, it’s clear that he’s operating at a different level of production sound these days. It’s a polished continued evolution of his sound that will be perfect to blast once the weather finally gets nicer.
Greene said that he had plans for a music video for the track that he would be shooting on the coast of Italy, but he had to abort these plans with the Coronavirus. So he posted on Instagram asking for fans to help curate the footage he was thinking of. He wanted the video to capture the memories of traveling and experiences for other people. And he ended up getting over 1,200 clips from places around the world that helped him create his music video.
