You may remember our post last October on Fort Lauderdale rapper RuudAwakening. In November he returned with his new album CATHARSIS, featuring 10 tracks with no features, just one man spitting out rhymes and laying his heart right out there on the table.
Take the finesse of the album track “Fallen From Grace” which is adorned with some haunting production flourishes mixed with hard-hitting beats that lays down the groundwork for his firey and thoughtful bars that rise to the occasion, and then some.
While so much of today’s hip-hop is overstuffed and produced, it’s great to see an artist that is delivering the goods without overcompensating.
