Nashville-based indie artist, Gatlin has returned with her new single “Talking to Myself.”

It instantly captures you attention with some clean-cut guitar work and a pleasant soaring melody that has your foot tapping alongside it from the getgo. Her passionate vocals add to the pleasure that the track hits with such confidence and ease, feeling like a mix of other rising artists such as Clairo and Hatchie.

Here’s a little bit about what went into the making of the track from Gatlin herself:

I wrote “Talking to Myself” eight days before heading to the studio with Michelle Buzz out in LA. We were talking about how in long term relationships you get so used to the other person being around – the song is about once the relationship has ended and the moments you forget that they’re not there anymore. You know, those few seconds where you forget that you broke up and you just want to tell them all about your day or something funny that happened. Those moments create a sense of loneliness and craziness because that person isn’t around anymore, and so you end up just talking to yourself.
